Personally I feel the same way, but for this site I thought what the heck
and signed in anyway.
It told me that Facebook doesn't track anything from the site, so
essentially it does just use Facebook for authentication, which meant I
didn't have to create a new login for a site that I may not use very often.
I actually really appreciated the simplicity of the login in this case, I'm
glad I didn't have to create a new login for this site, as I probably
wouldn't have bothered.
Creating login functionality is a fair amount of overhead in a project, if
you can simply overcome it with the use of an alternative system then why
waste time on making it yourself.
I can see that this is going to be more common place in the future, where
sites would offer a couple of options, but all will be with external
networks, Googe, Facebook, Linkedin.
It's just our perceptions that should change.
