First up, sorry to hear you've had such a shitty experience.
We'd all like to think your experience is an exception to the rule but I can assure you it isn't. The lack of feedback after an interview is frustratingly common however your nightmare pair programming situation does sound like a worst case scenario.
I have significant experience in sourcing & hiring developers, bot with an agency and as an in-house recruiter with a large dev company. If I'm being honest and objective (without having seen your CV) it sounds like your CV is letting you down or not representing you appropriately.
Send me across your CV and I'll happily provide an honest and experienced perspective. We also happen to be looking for RoR & Ruby devs so who knows what may come of it. One thing I'll guarantee is that you will get open and honest feedback.
