I'm still not sure if I'm allowed to share much of the stuff I've  
been doing over the last few months but I hope to have clarification  
of that by this time next week. Those of you who met my colleague  
Romek at the last meet will know that we're working on something  
rather ambitious (possibly too ambitious) which if all the funding  
falls in place will hopefully be very high profile, and all of the  
prototypes are written in Ruby. In fact I'm hoping that our  
production system will be as well, but it's an uphill battle against  
the industry-entrenched J2EE crowd. Anyway the pair of us are very  
keen to share what's festering in our lab but unfortunately we don't  
get to make that decision :(

Incidentally does anyone who'll be attending have much practical  
experience with scaling Ruby applications? I'd particularly like to  
catch up with anyone who works with DRb as I think it's a technology  
we'll be working with in a month or two but I don't have the time to  
experiment with it right now.
