Flower-children of the technical world,

A friend of mine runs a florist - not just any florist, but indeed the
Queen's florist. And, they're after a full-time web developer. The
package includes a generous salary + flowers.

Top-class, hand-created, fairly-traded luxury flowers. They've been in
business since 1876. Their current website, recently launched, is
here: http://www.moysesflowers.com, and the job is for someone who
wants to take this over and has a very wide scope and whoever takes it
will have a good deal of freedom in how it develops.

They're looking to invest heavily in their web presence, squaring off
against interflora, Marks & Spencers and other production-line,
factory-made poor quality bouquet-shifters.

Think of it as water lilies meets web 2.0 - ajax-powered aspidistras -
roses on rails. Or, think of it as a cracking chance to leave your
soul-destroying java jobs and live with the cool guys. Or a chance to
sell stuff that makes people smile, except at funerals, but mostly.

Here's some more from their official job spec:

"Moyses Stevens is one of London's top florists, with shops in
Mayfair, Belgravia and Sloane Square. We are sourcing local, organic
and Fairtrade flowers to ensure our bouquets not only look beautiful
but are sustainable. With both a recent refinancing and the management
team who developed Green & Black's chocolate in place, we are growing
rapidly and aim to be the leading flower brand in the UK, through both
online and high street shops.

There is a huge opportunity to develop the brand on the web. Working
closely with our sales team, you would be in charge of the development
of the online shop. We have had a go, as you can see at
www.moysesflowers.co.uk but there is so much more to do and we feel
that having someone working closely with our florists and marketing
team will be able to have significant impact.

You'll be based at our office & studio at New Covent Garden Market, in
the hub of the British flower industry. The environment is
entrepreneurial, so expect a fast pace and quick decisions."

If you're interested get in touch with me directly and I'll put you in touch.

Ben
