Heh. One thing you should be aware of is that you can now get your  
instances back. EC2 now has an option to keep the EC2 image on S3.

A better approach IMO would still be to program for failure of your  
EC2 instance and to automatically restore the EC2 instance's database  
from backups on S3, which presumably you're creating every 5-15  
minutes. (or something like that, depending on your risk tolerance).
