Apologise for another post about employment, but notonthehighstreet.com needs a passionate UI / front-end developer (who doesn't mind digging around under the hood in RoR). The initial contract would be for about 3 months, but with the possibility of it leading to a full time role or possible extension / project work afterwards.

Our company is undergoing a complete site redesign, with the help of a professional UX Design / Usability Research company and you would be involved in the complete process from research to development. You would attend all meetings, workshops and lab testing with the UX Company and be responsible for a complete application template overhaul and realising the UI requirements that evolve from the research phases. You will work with the rest of the team (backend devs) to implement the changes required, and be responsible for creating a comprehensive cucumber test suite for these developments.

We will be researching and hopefully integrating alot of rich user experience enhancements (AJAX/DHTML) to the application, so you should have a proven track record of building interactive UI, a strong working knowledge of major javascript libraries, a passion about UX design and an attention to detail (as it's those little finishing touches that in IMHO make all the difference in UX Design).

This is a great opportunity for you be part of a small, agile and friendly team with the potential to build an award winning e-commerce site that pushes the boundaries of the application of modern web technologies within an e-commerce environment. You will not only be responsible for developing the new UI, but will have every opportunity to input into the research and design phases of this project too.

If this sounds interesting to you then please contact me off-list at joesimms at notonthehighstreet.com.

Cheers

Joe
