Hi All,

[Special Note] This project was started by a bunch of developers with little
to no Ruby experience, your particular skill with Ruby will be appreciated.
Please show us where we've not gone 'the ruby way' and help steady our
course!

We're hosting a Code
Jam<http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/5627892/LONDON/London-United-Kingdom/RapidFTR-code-jam-in-cooperation-with-ThoughtWorks/ThoughtWorks-UK-Office/>this
Saturday at the ThoughtWorks office's to get our project, RapidFTR,
through the final hurdles. We want to deploy it to the field and start
helping reunite displaced and orphaned children with their families asap.

For more information on RapidFTR you can visit the website at
http://www.rapidftr.com
Essentially RapidFTR is a very simple system that is used to gather
information on lost or orphaned children so that they can be registered and
kept safe in disaster struck places like Haiti or refugee camps like those
in Sudan.

We're looking for anyone who wants to help, we require all sorts of skill
sets.

   - We need help with the website and API, written in Ruby backed by
   CouchDB.
   - We need help moving forward with our native BlackBerry client, written
   in Java.
   - We want to kick off a project to build a client for the Android
   Platform.
   - We need folk who know how to deploy Rails applications in a snap.
   - We want people with experience integrating Couch with Lucene.
   - And most of all we want people who are willing to try their hand at any
   of the above!

If you would like to check out our code it's up on git hub:
http://github.com/jorgej/RapidFTR

To thank you for giving up your Saturday, we'll be supplying breakfast,
lunch and Monmouth coffee!

PS: Sorry for out the out of the blue mail. Seen as I'm new to Ruby I
haven't been on this list much, but I'm looking forward to being part of the
group.
