Hi all,
This year I've been based up North in Manchester, but next year it looks like the hard work of me and my colleagues will be paying off and I'll be down in London full-time (see you all at LRUG meets in 2012!), but in the meantime, I need some colleagues to join me. I hope you don't mind me posting the below here, and I should stress we're prepared to look at people with a wide range of experience - including graduate level - so spread the word even if this isn't for you but you know somebody who might be interested.
Any questions, you can contact me off-list either via this email address of probinson at stratajet.com
Paul

Developers:
Stratajet provides a technology solution to increase the efficiency of private jet booking, offering a revolutionary consumer experience for private jet customers, and allowing charter companies to make efficiency gains with their aircraft fleet.
Stratajet raised seed funding in April 2011, and having successfully completed the prototype stage has secured funding to go to market.
The company is about to experience significant growth as technology, sales and customer support scale to meet the challenges of launching a revolutionary new product.
We are looking to hire developers with a range of experience in data structure and algorithm design and preferably experience in Ruby and Ruby on Rails. You should love working collaboratively in small agile teams, and solving tough technology challenges. Our product has a high level of complexity at a data structure and algorithm level, and this is about as far from building another eCommerce site or social networking layer as you can get.
You will be the 2nd or 3rd developer hire and so this is a great opportunity to forge the technology decisions very early on. As well as your core technology role, all team members at Stratajet have a great deal of input into the business decisions and prioritising the product feature backlog.
Preferred candidate:
- Ruby on Rails experience
- XML, JSON, RESTful API design and JavaScript experience
- Data structure and algorithm research and design skills
- Experience in building apps in one or more of VBA, iOS, Android SDK, Adobe Air or Runtime Revolution a plus
- Able to show initiative to take on all of the challenges faced in a start-up
- Enjoy working in small collaborative teams.
- Interest or experience in aviation and the aviation industry a major plus
Location: West End London. This is an on-site position.
Compensation: Based on experience
Start date: We are looking to recruit developers to start beginning of February 2012.
Application: Send a covering e-mail, CV and salary expectations to jobs at stratajet.com with subject line "Developer role"
Please note, we will not accept applications or representation via any recruitment agencies. Yes recruiters, we know you're really good, and we know you're different from all the others out there, but we are quite firm on this policy.
