I am handling an urgent permanent requirement for a central London based client - they require at least two people.  This is a permanent role; client does not want to use a contractor for the position as they want the person there permanently and to grow with the business.  However they have said that they are happy to consider a contractor considering a move back to a perm role, who still wants challenge and diversity.

Senior Ruby Developer - London - £40k to £60k
Exciting London based web-services / ecommerce start-up helping to speed up delivery of online purchases that is enjoying massive take up by retail clients across the UK.
Looking for Senior Ruby Developer / Agile Evangelist - tremendous opportunity to join high profile/growth venture backed business with superb team - you will join the engineering team and will be instrumental in architecting, designing, building and scaling the technology platform.

Working as part of small team following Agile practices (scrum); TDD using Cucumber and Rspec, Continuous Integration, frequently pair program with clean, maintainable and well-designed code.  They are looking for a passionate and highly motivated developer.

Requirements:

·         Commercial general software and Ruby on Rails development experience

·         Experience in technical leadership role and / or experience as scrum master is a bonus

·         Experience building and scaling large Internet applications

·         Expert knowledge of OO design, Design Patterns, and Refactoring - Ruby, Rails, Sinatra, Linux, Apache, Passenger, Thin, Nginx, EventMachine, Jruby, SQL, MySQL, Postgres, XML, JSON, D/HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, HAML, SASS, Memcached, Redis, Cucumber, RSpec and other cool technologies in Ruby ecosystem

·         Self-starter able to propose and execute complex software development initiatives

·         Active participation in Ruby and open source communities

·         Passion for new technologies, self-directed learning, and ability to share and introduce new ideas into team environment

·         Expertise in application troubleshooting, debugging, and performance evaluation and tuning
