[LRUG] [JOBS] Ruby team at Which? - Tech Lead and Developers

Which? (the consumer charity: http://www.which.co.uk/about-which/who-we-are/overview/) is putting together a Ruby team for a brand new product development project that will kick off soon.

The product will provide a great online experience that helps students find the right university and course for them. We are ambitious, we aim to be the premier source for higher education advice and information in the UK within two years.

To help us get a kick-start we are looking to recruit, on a contract basis, Rubyist thought leaders who are not only interested in writing great software, but also in expanding the use of Ruby throughout the organisation and help us move away from the 'enterprise' mindset, and the expense and inertia that brings.

Though, if you're a great coder, who loves Ruby and simply wants to focus on making great products, we'd like to here from you too!

We're not going to list a set of skills we expect you to have, we expect smart experienced Rubyists to tell us what we should be using.

There's no legacy code to maintain or port, this will be a brand new codebase over which the team can have complete control. There will be interesting scaling challenges to solve, as well as data integration and analysis, plus smart usage of users social graphs.

We are looking to pay competitive contract rates to attract the right people (we’re not a startup and have decent and realistic funding for this product).
