funny that you should post this today. Just bought this map which
lists places that are freelancer friendly (not just for hacking, but
also for general meetings):

the site states 21, but it's really 25 places. Some of them I knew of,
but never thought of working there. Bought it 'cos I thought it's such

Apart from Southbank (I take it you're talking about the Royal
Festival Hall), maybe the Barbican Centre would be something that
you'd find suitable.
