Lambasting the use of Comic Sans strikes me as a predictable, lazy,
off-the-shelf way to prove one's aesthetic credentials.

I don't even think it's the worst of the common Windows fonts: I find
Monotype Corsiva far more objectionable, and that's everywhere too, on
shop signs, invitations, and certificates.

Anyway, don't get too hung up about the typography. Using Comic Sans
doesn't mean that someone's an idiot:
