If you're looking for an excuse to travel to Asia for work,
then consider heading to RedDotRubyConf in Singapore.

http://reddotrubyconf.com/

2 days for 225 SGD (~115 GBP) + flights and hotel.

The lineup this year so far is;

   - Jim Weirich
   - Josè Valim
   - Aaron Patterson
   - Steve Klabnick
   - Ola Bini
   - Akira Matsuda
   - Prem Sichanugrist

Usually attendees are a mixture of developers from Asia, Australia, and
Europe.

I'm not involved with the conference, but attended in both 2011 and 2012,
and it has been a great experience.

Shanghai, Taipei, and Tokyo all have good Ruby conferences, but only a
subset of talks are usually in English. RedDot is all in english if that
makes a difference.
