This email that I just got seems relevant to the current thread on
recruiters. I'm sure most of you receive these already, but for those
of you that don't, I get these cold call emails from recruiters every
other day or so ...
I notice they are starting to mention github more and more, but the
recruiter gets my name wrong ... makes me switch off immediately ...

Hi Tom
Came across your profile on a github and was really impressed how
passionate you are about development. I wanted to speak with you
regarding some permanent ruby opportunities in London. I have attached
some job descriptions above with some short descriptions about them
below. Some of them are lead development positions and the others a bit
less senior.
Although the majority of them are ruby positions, they will also give
you the chance to learn Clojure/Haskell too if this would interest you.
A few of them are already using Amazon AWS and noSQL databases, most
notably Cassandra and MongoDB.
*uSwitch*- (part of Forward internet group). Leading price comparison
website, awesome company with amazing offices in Camden*. MongoDB,
Aamazon S3, TDD*
*Active in Time*- Based in google campus in Moorgate, startup looking
for a lead developer/future CTO.*MongoDB, BDD, TDD*
*MyMeds&Me*- Pharmaceutical based web app, small company with a very
fast growing team in Soho (3 ruby hires this year already).
*Keepmebooked*- Booking website working in conjunction with Housetrip,
startup in Tottenham court road.
*Offside Gaming*-- Gaming company based in central London working in
ruby on rails and very agile. *Also use Scala, Groovy at same company*
*1minus1*-- Digital agency based in Guildford, just outside of London
working in Ruby and TDD.
Let me know if any of these interest you, would be keen to see you CV so
we can discuss things further and find out which of these positions is
best for you!
Many thanks,
Dom
