I'd like to see this. As ever, it'd be more interesting to hear about the "why" (i.e. what's the point of another state machine gem, what benefits has this approach given you over existing solutions, etc) rather than the "how" (i.e. a gem tutorial).

FWIW, someone proposed a Ruby Manor talk on a similar subject (http://vestibule.rubymanor.org/proposals/10), so the feedback on that proposal may be relevant.
