[LRUG] Industrial Placement

Hello LRUG,

My name is Ed, and I'm looking for an innovative company with a culture of excellence for a year-long industrial placement, as part of my Computer Science degree at the University of Kent.

During the course I have gained a solid grounding in the following core areas of computing:

- Object Oriented Programming in Java, 
- Web Development using HTML5, CSS3, PHP (+CodeIgniter), JavaScript (+jQuery),SQL (MySQL & PostgreSQL), SOAP and Android application development
- Functional and Concurrent Programming using Erlang
- Human Computer Interaction, including UI/UX design
- Algorithms, correctness & efficiency
- Operating Systems & Architecture including AVR Assembly programming
- Theory of Computing, including grammars & parsing
- Software Engineering

Outside of my degree, my main interest has been in cutting-edge scalable web application development, so I learnt about Ruby and the Rails framework, as well as LESS, SASS, and various tools and best practices essential to high quality development. However, progress on my own has been slow, and I would relish the opportunity to learn from experienced developers and contribute to real products.
