Hi LRUGers,

Here at The App Business we are looking for some more talented Ruby
developers to join our growing team, two contractors and two permanent.
You would be working on some very interesting projects, scaling Rails
and sinatra-based web services and APIs that power some of the complex
custom features and dynamic data within our mobile apps. The technology
stack of the particular projects we are hiring for includes AWS EC2,
Elasticache/Memcached, Varnish, Akamai, Cucumber, RSpec, Delayed Job,
MySQL. In a permanent role, there will be opportunity to use many other
frameworks and platforms as other projects require, and help shape apps
built for all kinds of devices (tablets, phones, wearables).

We are a company of just over 60 people, roughly half of those
developers who work across various languages including iOS, Android,
JavaScript, C# and Ruby.

We work in an Agile environment, with the teams encouraged to
self-organise and supported in delivering working software early and
often. We use tools such as jenkins, Anthill PRO, and testflight to
support this, and we're a big fan of git flow. We also have a strong
commitment to quality; our development approach is heavily influenced by
Software Craftsmanship and BDD. I've included the full job spec at the
end of the email, for anyone interested in the finer details, it's also
available on our website (http://www.theappbusiness.com/ruby-developer/).

Any further technical questions about the projects or the company, feel
free to get in touch and I can provide them - I am a Ruby developer
myself. For those or to apply, please
email<mailto:opportunities at theappbusiness.com>opportunities at theappbusiness.com
<mailto:opportunities at theappbusiness.com>.

A learning from my last post: STRICTLY NO RECRUITERS. We will politely
ignore any emails coming from recruiters we don't already work with.

Thanks,
*Will Thomas*
Full-stack Web Engineer

*OUR STORY*

The App Business (TAB) is an award-winning, full service, specialist
mobile software company that grew out of three inspirational years
working with Steve Jobs. Helping to launch the iPhone, App Store and
hundreds of apps convinced us that software is eating the world and that
people are now turning to 'apps' to navigate their daily lives. With
this in mind, we built The App Business from the ground up to help
businesses meet the challenges and opportunities in our emerging
'programmable world.'

We work with brands to help them create business-transforming software
experiences, across smartphones, tablets, desktop, social media, even
TVs - wherever the audience is. Our approach is 'audience-led,
technology-informed', meaning we blend in-house app strategists and
interaction designers with specialist software engineers to craft ideas
and technology that actually works.

*OUR CULTURE*

We're a unique company that is changing the way brands develop ideas and
engage audiences. Working with us, you'll be exposed to a highly
successful and entrepreneurial digital technology business.

We want people to develop at The App Business more fully than at any

all the support that people need to conquer them and give everybody an
opportunity to shape the future of our ambitious company.

Our working culture is modelled on our experience with Apple. Ultimately
open, friendly and relaxed, we're committed to ensuring it's easy for
everybody to communicate, to share ideas and find solutions. This
positive culture is created by our shared ambitions, passion and
commitment to hard work.
