[LRUG] Middleman without copying large images directory

Is there a config option in Middleman to prevent the duplication of 
large images directories? As I understand Middleman will copy the 
contents of any directory in /source to /build and likewise delete 
anything in /build which doesn't exist in /source. This is 
unsatisfactory as anything in /source/images is duplicated which can 
really add up in a large site.
