[LRUG] [JOBS] Mid/Senior rails contractor needed for ~3 months at Cleo AI

Hi all,

I work at a startup called Cleo AI where we're on a mission to radically
improve everyone’s relationship with money.  Our chosen tool for this is
a chat bot that's connected to all your bank accounts and provides insight
and advice on your spending.

We're looking for a mid/senior contractor to join us to provide cover as
one of our devs goes on paternity leave.  Initially we're looking at a 3
month contract, but if it goes well it could be extended.

You'd be joining the "Plus" team that's focused on the paid version of
Cleo.  There are 5 devs, a data scientist and a product owner on this
team, and like the rest of the company we work in one-week agile sprints.
We've recently been focused on improving our error handling to give
users more info when something goes wrong, but also to avoid errors by
using transaction and balance data to not take money from the user when
we know they don't have it.  Coming up on our roadmap are:

  1. Integrating a new 3rd party service to provide credit scoring for our
     subscribers and expand the reasons that someone would sign up for the
     paid version
  2. Detecting overdraft fees in user transaction data better to let us
     market our subscription product better.  The subscription comes with
     £/$100 overdraft cover, so if you've been charged £/$40 in overdraft
     fees each month, our £/$4.99 subscription fee can save you money

Day to day you'd be expected to come to our office near Old St most of the
time.  Remote working is allowed, but we're not quite setup for fully
remote folk.  You'll primarily be working on our rails app but there are
opportunities to work on our react frontend and react-native mobile apps,
or get stuck in with some of our data-science work on AWS SageMaker and
AWS Redshift.  Although the contract is specifically to join our "Plus"
team, you'll get to work with the other dev teams and the rest of the
business to make sure we're all doing the right thing.
