This could work as a great addition to onruby. Some means of connecting videos with talks.

Hi folks,

Two exciting things in this email. Two! You're so lucky.

*Item one:*

We've just published the videos for our February and May meetings, and for one of the talks for our April meeting.

You can find the links to the videos on the website:
 * http://lrug.org/meetings/2020/february/
 * http://lrug.org/meetings/2020/april/
 * http://lrug.org/meetings/2020/may/
These were cut together from zoom recordings provided by our sponsors; Simply Business for the Feb meeting and Cleo AI for the April one. We've been using our own Zoom account since. Expect the June recordings later this week.

*Item two:*

We used to rely on lanyrd.com to host all the links to videos and blog posts and what not for our meetings, but it died a slow death some years ago, and we just went without ever since. That seems silly, so we’ve *Done A Thing*.
 1. We scraped the internet archive for all the coverage pages for LRUG meetings in lanyrd.com and stuck that data in a JSON file here: https://github.com/lrug/lrug.org/blob/master/data/coverage.json
 2. We added a custom kramdown tag to render coverage links for a given talk and added this tag to some pages (see for example: https://github.com/lrug/lrug.org/blame/master/source/meetings/2020/may/index.html.md#L55)
Now, the data is spotty, because lanyrd went away in 2016 so we had nowhere to record things after that, and we only really started using it in 2011. If we’re being honest, we weren’t extremely diligent about filling it in on lanyrd either even when it was around.

We’d love some help fleshing this out, so this is where you come in!

If you ever spoke at LRUG and posted your slides somewhere afterwards, or wrote a blog post or transcript, or have relevant github repositories that would be useful to add as coverage, then it’d be super cool if you were to create a PR with additions to coverage.json. Even better if you also added a `{::coverage …}` tag to the relevant meeting page to render the coverage.

Even if you haven’t (yet*) spoken at LRUG, it’d be also super cool if you wanted to do some spelunking through our mailing list archives, or skills matter’s archive or the internet at large to generate some coverage links for the meetings where we have none.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Murray & the rest of the organsing team

* ‘cos you all will eventually, right? slots available for our July meeting on the 13th - talks at lrug.org if you’re so inclined!
