Hi folks,

Our LRUG meeting for the month of May is fast approaching: it arrives on
Monday 9th May. As remains the style of the time we’re hosting the meeting
via zoom, and will send the url for joining the call out to attendees on
the day. Formal proceedings run from 6:30pm to about 8pm — although
informally we open our virtual doors around 6:20pm and will leave the call
running until hunger pangs for dinner draw us away.

This month is a bumper gov-tech bonanza with talks from the teams at DfE
and GOV.UK:

* “Mining a gem: how to safely discover, extract and share useful code from
your Rails app” by Duncan Brown
* “GOV.UK’s response to COVID-19” by Leena Gupta and Rosa Fox

(A fun game to while away the time until the meeting is to see if you can
work out which is the DfE talk and which is the GOV.UK one.)

Full details of these talks and the meeting in general can be found at
https://lrug.org/meetings/2022/may/

If you’d like to attend and have the zoom url emailed to you on the day you
should:

1. Read our code of conduct at https://readme.lrug.org/#code-of-conduct
2. Sign up via eventbrite at
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lrug-may-2022-tickets-323441150187

Looking forward to seeing you all* on the 9th!

Cheers,

Murray & the rest of the organising team

* well, at most 95 of you, as our zoom account has price induced limits
after all!
