Hey folks,
To make it easier to fill the LRUG Gazette I’ve put together a google form
to collect some micro content.
1. A “top 10” rubygems chart seems fun so I’m asking for people to list
their personal top 10 and optionally leave some commentary. I’ll collate
the responses and put together a chart rundown
2. TIL snippets - little snippets of ruby code you’ve learned that you want
to share. More than a rubocop rule, less than a blog post. Could be a
standard library method you wish everyone knew, or a technique you want
more people to adopt, or a “huh, I didn’t know ruby did _that_” thing you
just learned.
3. Favourite LRUG Talk - a link and sentence or two about a past LRUG talk
that really meant something to you. For whatever reason.
The form is here https://forms.gle/Vo9Bg8XeoNnNnUVd9 - please submit some
stuff to add to what we already have. If you have multiple things to
share, just submit multiple times.
In terms of deadline, I suggested a “content deadline” of the October
meeting, so I could spent the rest of the month putting the newspaper
together, but given I’ve (#humblebrag) been accepted to give a talk at
RubyConf in Nov, I suspect I need to focus on writing that talk, instead of
learning how to use print media software. So this means probably shifting
the deadline to the Nov meeting (earlier is always better) with the aim of
shipping the newspaper at the Dec meeting.
Still pretty excited for this thing to come to fruition, and I’m excited to
get even more into it. Hope you are too.
Cheers,
Murray
