Hi,

I have been playing around with REST since the RailsConf in London last year. I found a good way of thinking about these things is to look at how successful Rails programmers are doing things.

For example "Beast" uses REST quite successfully. I would check out their code :

Code : http://svn.techno-weenie.net/projects/beast/trunk/

Forum : http://beast.caboo.se/

I have also just read this free PDF book titled "RESTful Rails Development"
