Hi all,<br><br>I think I'm going to decline the offer from Skills Matter. I'm just not that convinced that we'd provide a useful and interesting session. If I was a Java programmer coming to Ruby right now, I think my main concerns would be a) JRuby and b) tooling. Thanks to Codepope we could do something about b) but I'm not sure we can cover a). So, unless anyone jumps up to offer something this afternoon, I'll let Skills Matter know we won't be doing the BoF.
<br><br>Thanks to everyone who has suggested things or offered to take part, I really appreciate your help. If any of you (or anyone else) wants to organise the BoF
anyway, get in touch with Joanna Go at Skills Matter (<span style="font-weight: normal;" class="lg"><a href="mailto:joanna.go@skillsmatter.com">joanna.go@skillsmatter.com</a></span>).<br><br>Cheers,<br><br>Muz<br><br><div>

Just to throw something else into the mix, does anyone have any exposure to JRuby? I can happily witter on about my own experiences integrating java+ruby during my transformation into a ruby programmer, but I didn't use JRuby and that's clearly the way to do things now, so I'm not clear on how useful it would be.

<br> <br>Has anyone got any ideas about running a BoF for Java programmers interested in Ruby. I think Martin and James's ideas below were quite interesting, but we'd need a few folk willing to give up an evening to do one of the suggested lightning talks. Any takers?

If anyone has any ideas about running a BoF session, or taking part in it, grab me tonight. Skills Matter want to know soonish if we want to be involved, so tonight's as good a night as any to suggest stuff.
