Welcome to the group Jon.

I have been programming in Ruby since the start of 2007. With every passing day, I learn to love Ruby more. I am a late learner, I've only just discovered the joy of reject, block/proc and the splat operator. I'm now moving on to design patterns and surprise surprise, Ruby makes it easy as pie.

See at the next meeting.

Xin

On 29/12/2007, Murray Steele <murray.steele@gmail.com> wrote:

Unlike our usual meetings it's a pub quiz and it's being organised by Tom Ward, so watch out for more info from him (soon Tom? ;). The meeting after that is probably on the 11th of Feb as we try to meet on the 2nd Monday of the month. The format for that meeting is lots of short presentations based around the 20 slides of 20 seconds each format.

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking on the list for a while now, but since I've recently started working in London (writing Ruby no less - I'm a lucky man ;P), I thought I'd stick my head up and introduce myself.

My love of Ruby was first formed around the 0.8 release of Rails, when I decided there must be something better then PHP. Since then I've built a couple of applications for small companies, and started to write a game for Mac OS (Space Trader - search Google Code if you're interested) using RubyCocoa. And now I'm working for an ISP, building internal systems on Rails.

I'm curious to know if there's been a date decided for the next meeting yet, as I'd love to come and meet a few fellow Rubyists.

Jon
