Best guesses would be what Martin already suggested and using WWR, or other social network sites that might already do such a thing. For example there are groups on last.fm, facebook and linkedin (off the top of my head, there might be others).

I have to admit that I have no idea how to do it ourselves. Can it be done externally to lrug.org with pipes, friendfeed or some other existing rss mashy-upy-thingy? If we need to self-host a solution, can it be done with the current software (an old version of RadiantCMS, so probably not), or is there something we can install alongside (one of those planet doo-dahs?)

The only problem I can see is that, like the existing members-and-friends page, any solution will probably suffer from being manually maintained. But, something is better than nothing, so... anyone that has any ideas or experience, speak up and we can see what we can do.

Muz

_______________________________________________
Chat mailing list
Chat@lists.lrug.org
http://lists.lrug.org/listinfo.cgi/chat-lrug.org
