So... <a href="http://lrug.org/meetings/2008/10/29/november-2008-meeting/">http://lrug.org/meetings/2008/10/29/november-2008-meeting/</a><br><br>James Darling has been cajoled into doing a short talk on a record player -> shazam -> packet sniffing -> <a href="http://last.fm">last.fm</a> api hack that he did. That still leaves us with plenty of time for other things tho'. Anyone else got stuff? Lots of short "here's something neat I did" talks would be cool.<br>

<br>Over on the ruby manor mailing list we're at the point where we'll be whittling down the talk proposals to those we'll actually be hearing on the day. It's possible I could cajole someone who isn't chosen for Ruby Manor to run their talk at the November LRUG, but if none of them feel like it or think they don't have enough time to put something together for LRUG (quite likely given that the final selection date for Ruby Manor is Nov 7th) does anyone else have something they want to talk about?<br>
<br>As usual, feel free to suggest something you want to learn about, maybe someone else will know enough to do the talk. I'm also open to nominations of someone you think knows or has done interesting stuff and I can go pester them to talk. You can mail me off-list if you'd prefer not to be known as the pester-insitgator ;). Ideas for non-talk based evenings are good too.<br>

<div><br></div><div>I've been involved with a few projects recently where my client's have wanted to do just that .. (more bang for the buck I guess) .. </div><div><br></div><div>Multiple ideas have floated through my head .. git submodules, plugins .. gems etc etc .. but some just seem overkill for little config or minor added implementations between sites .. yet I still need the ability to do some big implementation changes if I want, and not suffer duplication elsewhere..</div>
<div><br></div><div>I've come up with what is probably an intermediate solution .. but I'd love to hear from other members who undoubtably have worked their way through this, and kept themselves dry in the process..</div>
<div><br></div><div>I have no idea whether this is really a topic that is worth pursuing, but its an itch I currently have, so I thought I'd pop it out there ..</div><div><br></div><div>Or to turn it on its head .. I could look further into what might be some good solutions, and we then decide how wrong I've been.</div>
