</div><div><br></div><div>I used the new Omniauth (v1.0) + Devise (1.5.0) for login, so actually it's really very simple to allow direct signup (or allow other forms of auth, like Google, Twitter, Stackoverflow etc).</div><div><br></div><div>I made the choice to disable (or at least hide) direct signup because I personally don't like having to create lots of separate accounts for sites I use only very occassionally. Especially if I'm concerned about how they to store my password. But I appreciate this preference may not be shared by others.</div><div><br></div><div>But I absolutely agree that I should really show more information before sign-in is required. Also, an "about-us" page is coming soon! The project was only started at about 2pm on Saturday, and pushed to production at around 11 last night.</div>

There are lots of people who never have used Facebook, as well as a
large number of people leaving Facebook every month, so I'm quite
