<div dir="ltr"><pre style="color:rgb(0,0,0);word-wrap:break-word;white-space:pre-wrap">Hey everyone.
So on my current project we've got a service oriented architecture going on.
We currently have;
* 3 core Ruby services running in 2 environments (staging and production)
* javascript and iOS clients
* an ElasticSearch cluster
* a bunch of RDS databases
* memcache
* redis
Going into the future we anticipate;
* needing bigger databases
* needing bigger elastic search
* needing way more compute capacity
* getting better metrics
* adding Storm into the mix
* zero-downtime deploys?
We've been on Heroku since the start, and have tried to move away onto our own AWS deployment several times, but always come back due to the convenience of Heroku.
Recently we've tried Deis and OpsWorks and toyed with Ansible,
but each time we had to abandon our efforts due to lack of time and resources.
As time goes on we do need to get off Heroku for cost and performance reasons,
and need someone knowledgeable in these arts to come own that infrastructure.
Things we think might work;
* deis
* flynn
* elastic beanstalk + docker
* ansible
* recap + AWS tagged instances?
Maybe you're a sysadmin who wants to get into more DevOps-y stuff
Maybe you're a Rubyist who fell in love with Docker, and wants to do it full time.
