<div dir="ltr">Just out of curiosity, which kind of testament of skill are you looking for by requiring someone to hold a BA in Computer Science? In my experience there's professionals from all walks of life that end up as programmers, and the best I know happen not to come from development subjects at all. <div>
<br></div><div>It would make some sense if you were building some sort of language, compiler or development tool, but for a web startup that does events, I can't see why you'd need someone good in building compilers, creating languages, image recognition, speech recognition, natural language parsing or any other sort of reasonably advanced algorithms. Even in that case, the best people in Machine Learning tend not to come from a CS background, but either statistics, physics or maths. </div>
<div><br></div><div>Nothing wrong with holding a Computer Science degree, and I praise those who do hold one, but I don't really see why people put it as a requirement on their job ads.</div><div><br></div><div>Sorry if this sounded rough in any way, my intention is only to incite discussion.</div>
