The Royal Academy of Arts is looking for a new technical lead - it's a role that covers a mixture of managing, tech strategy and coding. The main code base is ruby (generally on rails although we have a custom ruby based CMS), and a mixture of jQuery, vanilla
JS and React on the front end with everything deployed in AWS (chef / capistrano). The RA has gone through a big change the last two years implementing new ticketing, membership and CRM technology. There's work building on that as well as a couple of interesting
projects kicking off in the new year ranging from redesigning/rebuilding the main RA website/cms and updating the software behind the yearly Summer Exhibition.</div>

I've been doing the role for the last couple of years and have loved the atmosphere of working in a big arts organisation that has bought into supporting digital. There's a lot going on here and things move fast - the role would suit someone who wants a varied
job doing a bit of code as well as strategy and coaching/managing. I'm moving on to get a new challenge - learnt lots in the past couple of years and boosted my career. Think the role would suit either someone who is mainly tech and looking to expand into
managing (and still looking to grow in both) or someone more accomplished in both who is looking for a steady, regular, interesting job with lots of the feeling of a small startup without some of the stresses.</div>
