Hello once again,<br>
<br>
During the weekend, we have had a second speaker come forward: Andy
Croll with "Mistakes were made, and definitely by me", about the
decisions made at the time of rewriting a decade old Rails codebase,
and how new Rails features are helping untangle them.<br>
<br>
As always, full details at <a
href="https://lrug.org/meetings/2025/may/"

where you will also find the venue's address and the link to secure
your ticket.<br>
<br>
Cheers,<br>

Hello everyone,<br>
<br>
Chris's magic tricks will be optional, because we have our first
talk for May: Ismael Celis with <span
style="font-weight: normal;">"An event-sourced programming model
for Ruby".<br>
<br>
More details at </span><a

We are always in need of talks (for this month, the next one, the
one after that, so on and so forth). If you ever fancy speaking in
front of a Ruby crowd, <a
class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="mailto:talks@lrug.org" moz-do-not-send="true">talks@lrug.org</a>
is your first port of call to start this conversation.<br>

<br>
We've secured a venue for the May 2025 meeting of LRUG on Monday
12th May. Details of that are here: <br>
<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext"

<br>
The eagle-eyed among you will notice we have no speakers. So
unless you'd like to spend an evening being entertained by my
"magic" "tricks" please consider volunteering to give a talk or
persuade one of your lovely friends/co-workers to give a talk. <br>
<br>
There's lots more detail about what that might involve here: <br>
<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext"

<br>
But in short, if it's something that you would find interesting
there's a great chance your fellow Rubyists might find it
interesting too. It doesn't even have to be about Ruby! Short
talks are as welcome as longer ones, and if you have an idea for
something that isn't a talk, perhaps a workshop, quiz or other
activity get in touch too. <br>
<br>
Email <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="mailto:talks@lrug.org" moz-do-not-send="true">talks@lrug.org</a>
with your ideas, please! <br>
<br>
Look forward to seeing you in May, <br>
<br>
Chris & the LRUG organising team. <br>
