I can certainly sympathise with how you're feeling. However, LRUG  
depends on its members to contribute talks, and so the content depends  
very much on what people (who are willing to talk) are willing to talk  
about. It would be incredibly difficult to find someone willing to  
give a particular kind of talk every meeting - it's hard enough  
finding people to talk *at all*!

I suspect that the best thing you can do is to simply come along to  
the next meeting. Sure, you might not understand everything in  
presentations, but then nobody ever does (particularly if Matthew Ruby  
Jacobs is trying to explain something by zooming into a pig's armpit).  
At the very least you'll recognise some stuff, and come away with  
questions that you can research via the books or blogs that Anthony  
points out.

Even if it all sounds like gibberish, you'll have the opportunity to  
talk to other Ruby folks in person, and in that situation it doesn't  
matter what level of 'expertise' you might be.

So we'll see you at the next meeting, right? :)

It looks like you're subscribed in 'digest mode'. If you sign into the  
website with the email and password you originally chose, you could  
change this to 'email', and then reply to individual emails. However,  
there's nothing terribly wrong with what you've done here :)
