The Diaspora code went live yesterday.

In case you missed all the 'press':

"Diaspora is an open-source personal web server software intended to provide a distributed social networking service, a decentralized alternative to Facebook."

If you don't have much Ruby/Rails experience contributing on a open source project is one way of getting credits.
