Hello,

Just to clarify, I am Rails developer working at the Sanger Institute, and
I was curious about the propagation of Ruby in not-for-profit and research
organizations, who sometimes seem to stay behind the curve when it comes to
newer technology.

For example, Perl is the mainstay in research organizations like the
Sanger, but Ruby is slowly being adopted. However it is still hard to find
suitable developers at times and I was just curious about others'
experiences.
