Hi all,

I write to you with terrible news.

Scientists have observed a massive asteroid on collision course with
London. They have called it "The October LRUG meeting" and predict that it
will come crashing down to earth on Monday 14th October at 6:30pm. It'll
land almost exactly on top of the Skills Matter office on Goswell Road in
London.

Those of us (un)lucky enough to survive the immediate collision need to be
prepared for the two major after-effects of the impact:

The first after-effect, known in asteroidology circles as the "Drew Neil",
will result in huge clouds of "Modelling state machines with Ragel" dust,
so do ready your breathing appartus!

The second after-effect, "Olly Legg", will cause the ejecta thrown up by
the impact to land in the "Enumerators in Ruby" pattern. Appropriate
headwear should be sought out.

You can find out more about what these catastrophic impact after-effects
mean for you by reading this LRUG-issued "surviving collision" pamphlet:
http://lrug.org/meetings/2013/09/16/october-2013-meeting/

Personal safety will be greatly increased if you register with Skills
Matter for a protective LRUG Attendance Badge (to be collected moments
before impact):

Finally, it may be of some use to let your loved ones know about your
potential obliteration via http://lanyrd.com/2013/lrug-october/

Prepare yourselves!
