[LRUG] [Help] Alternatives to NewRelic

I'd be interested to know how you've decided to scale your "hosts"

As I understand newrelic's concept of a "host" is more or less a server.
(whereas skylight charges per request)

So I'd be inclined to say "have fewer larger instances"

(There's a queueing theory argument for the same thing too,
see the rapgenius saga with heroku from a couple of years ago)

But I also like Sam's suggestion: "put new relic on a subset of machines"
