[LRUG] Anonymous Hiring Masterclass and more

Hi LRUG,

This is just a reminder to say that blackgirl.tech is having an Anonymous
Hiring Masterclass later this month specifically for employers and
recruiters, basically anyone who is in a position to hire people or offer
candidates to be hired. If you actually care about diversifying your teams
but are unsure how to or where to start, this is a good starting point. The
masterclass will be led by Kate Glazebrook, who has a wealth of experience
in the field. There are currently 5 more spaces, so grab your tickets

Also, after yesterday's thread on workshops for beginners (thanks to those
who contributed) I decided to start a list of ruby/rails resources that
beginners may find useful. It's literally just a markdown file hosted on

Finally, blackgirl.tech are looking for organisational partners. We will
soon be launching a membership service and would like to offer our members
discounts on cool products. If you think you have a product or service that
our members may find useful, please do get in touch. We're also offering a
scholarship package for organisations to send one black woman on a bootcamp
course, the organisation will pay for the package which will pay for
tuition costs and the organisation's name will be on the scholarship, e.g.
'The blackgirl.tech & LRUG Scholarship'. If your organisation is
interested, again, do get in touch.
