Hi LRUG 👋

FreeAgent – online accounting app for savvy freelancers and
micro-businesses across Earth (but mainly the UK) – are about to enter a
new stage of growth as we're in the final stages of an acquisition by
RBSG/NatWest. We are to remain operationally independent and will still be
based in our stunning Edinburgh HQ, and we will continue to run a
distributed engineering team across the UK. We have big plans for the
online accounting space and in particular taking advantage of current and
future Open Banking legislation to deliver the best possible customer
experience for small businesses financial management.

We are looking to grow our product and engineering team (currently ~40
engineers) significantly in the next year or two, so we have some great
opportunities for developers of all levels (mid-level, senior, principal)
who want to work with an excellent team on a Ruby/Rails app operating at
large scale. Areas of focus for us are:

   - Front-end engineering (help us rebuild our UI using in-house pattern
   library, FreeStyle)
   - Application architecture (help us continually improve our domain
   modelling, working on refactoring, training and mentoring engineers in best
   practice)
   - Database scaling (including planning for sharding)
   - Ops, DevOps, containerisation, and the tooling thereof
   - Data engineering, machine learning, product-driven insights
   - Team leadership
   - Mentoring and coaching
