Hi all,

I'm looking to hire someone who is looking for a long-term gig, helping build out a mature social network platform - the backend consists of a legacy Rails API (known as 'v1'), and a Java API gateway talking to a series of Ruby microservices (collectively known as 'v2'). We're partway through a multi-year transition from v1 to v2.

ASMALLWORLD (ASW) is a travel-focused social network (dating back to 2004!) providing members with events, privileges, and community in over 100 cities around the world via the ASW Website, iPhone app and Android app.

The current version of the ASW website was launched in May 2013 and we are improving and adding to our existing features and functionality on an ongoing basis with lots of exciting new projects on the horizon.

I'm looking to hire someone with solid experience of back-end tech - front-end chops are a plus, but not essential, so if you (like me!) are comfortable in an SQL command line, or frigging about with Redis SINTER commands, but less up on your JS or CSS, then this could still be a good match.

I'm much more interested in finding the right person to join a small, tight-knit team than box-ticking a series of rigid requirements, so the requirements themselves are flexible. Our team number seven developers (soon to be 8 with the addition of a second Android dev), three QA and project management, so we're pretty small and everyone can make a huge difference.
