[LRUG] [JOBS] Senior Ruby Engineer Contract - 6 months / 2~ days per week, remote

Hi LRUG,

We are a super friendly little HR SaaS company based in Liverpool Street, London. We have a permanent IT team of myself (Senior), a Junior, a UX designer/tester, Network admin and Product Manager. With many new projects on the horizon we need another set of experienced hands to help with the dev backlog. This is mostly small (1-2 day average) changes to existing functionality, some new functionality and the occasional bug fix.

The main product is like many Rails apps, a legacy one, it’s been upgraded through the years (since 2012) and currently it’s running on Rails 7 / Ruby 3. We have a lot of jQuery/Coffeescript/HAML/SASS so knowledge of “the old ways” is a must! We deploy via AWS Copilot.

We’re looking for a Senior Ruby Engineer on an initial 6 month contract, most likely 2~ days a week although we can be flexible, so this may be particularly ideal if you have other projects/clients/interests. This is a remote position so your location isn’t important providing you are in the UK, although an initial visit to our London office would be nice so you can meet the team! You’d be expected to hit the ground running tackling tasks (for which we use Trello), I’m always here to help with domain knowledge but being experienced/self motivated/comfortable working remotely is important for this role.
