I often advise that day rate/salary/seniority isn't just based on technical
skill, but a focus on delivering value to the client through good
communication skills, working well with non-technical team members, and an
ability and willingness to work in uncertain and sometimes difficult
environments.
But also good adherence to professional etiquette, such as not sending a
private email to 100s of other people. It's good to know that I still have
room for growth.
