Would love to do more Ruby, one of my fav languages, but seems like there's hardly anything around, especially since the economic downturn a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I’m doing more J/TS these days, and relearning Python, not a fan of either tbh. Used to love diving into my IDE, now it feels kinda gross 😬😄

So, as we’re looking for more talks, and if anyone’s feeling altruistic enough to spill the tea, how about a talk on finding Ruby work at best…or, drippiest…rates?

If anyone’s feeling inspired, I even came up with an idea for a title slide to get you started…

“PRETTY MUCH BROKE?!? OHHH NAHHH—That Ain’t The DRIP! Let’s Get These CONTRACTS STACKED, SON!”

PS James, you’re certainly well qualified, that’s one of the highest rates I’ve ever seen, total rockstar 🙌

My last contracting gig (which was also my first contracting gig), was a couple of years on £700/day (but inside IR35 so the headline figure is a bit misleading). I'd love to hear what the range of going rates is at the moment (to be clear, I've got my next thing lined up so this is purely curiosity on my part combined with the general belief that breaking the taboo of discussing compensation is occasionally healthy).
