*SH24* is a new, NHS backed start-up which hopes to revolutionise sexual 
health care in South East London by using telephone and internet 
technologies to deliver sexual health care remotely, 24 hours a day, 
seven days a week.

We're looking for a Ruby developer who can take responsibility for the 
management of our application codebase. They will take on a variety of 
tasks, from implementing interactive front-end interfaces to designing 
and building back-end solutions.

They will be expected to estimate and implement their work within an 
agile process and ensure that the highest level of code quality and 
appropriate test coverage is maintained throughout.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in the full web stack, and love 
good design.


      Desired Skills and Experience


        Responsibilities

  * Architect, develop and maintain a complex Ruby on Rails application
  * Work with external designers, developers and testers as required to
    plan and ship work
  * Identify areas of risk and complexity during the planning process
  * Communicate continually with the team on progress
  * Turn wireframes and designs into functional applications
  * Advocate best practices
  * Write and maintain integration and unit test suites


        Technical competencies

  * Ruby and Ruby on Rails
  * Git
  * TDD/BDD
  * HTML and CSS
  * JavaScript


        Highly desirable skills

  * Strong OO design skills
  * Experience working in an agile environment
  * Open source contributions
  * Experience setting up and maintaining UNIX systems
  * A keen eye for detail
  * Understanding of continuous integration


        Other things

  * A collaborative worker with a can-do attitude
  * A practical mind-set
  * Experience of successfully working in fast paced environments
  * Experience of managing, or exposure to, big digital builds
  * Experience of, or knowledge of, design-led methodologies would be a
    distinct advantage
  * Experience of being involved in a start-up would also be advantageous.

£50,000 + benefits
