Hi all,
I would like to do a 25 minute talk at LRUG but I have too many ideas. I've
tried to whittle it down to three: * How to make successful junior developers - I've hired something like four
junior developers total so far, so perhaps not that many, but along the way
I've learned a couple of things about what does/doesn't work for them. This
talk will be about hiring them and doing everything possible to make them
successful on your team.
* Cooking and coding - I have cooked a lot in my adult life and have eaten a
lot my whole life. This talk will be about the parallels between cooking
(+eating) and programming. There will be a bit of food geekery in this, but
not much.
* Misguided things developers say about
business - I've been running a business (rather than programming) full-time
for about two years. In that time I've learned many painful lessons about
business. This talk will be about the dumb things I used to say about
business and the other probably dumb things I've replaced them with.
Which of those three would you like to see at LRUG? Let me know and I will ask
Murray to let me talk about the one with the most upvotes.
Thanks,

I run a technical consultancy specialising in Ruby on Rails. Have a look atthis
one-page info sheet for a summary of the services we provide. We're always happy
to meet people building software, so if you think of anyone appropriate for us
we would appreciate being put in touch :-)
