Do you want to help us deliver fresh, healthy, sustainably grown food to
more customers?

We are looking for someone to provide ongoing maintenance and support for
our Ruby on Rails based website and customer / order management system

<http://suttoncommunityfarm.org.uk>. There will also be some feature
development and improvements required. More details below.

*The Farm*
Sutton Community Farm is a community-owned farm. We started in 2010 in
response to a community need with the purpose to increase access to fresh,
healthy, sustainable food and provide a shared space for people to
cultivate skills, get exercise and make new friends. Our farm sits on a
beautiful 7.1 acre smallholding with views towards the skyline of central

*Our aims*
1. To be a space for learning (about sustainable food)
2. To contribute to local food supply through a productive growing rotation
3. To achieve economic stability, through enterprise and diversification
4. To be leaders in peri-urban farming
5. To support an engaged community of members, volunteers and customers

We achieve all of these aims through our Veg Box scheme which depends on a
reliable and user friendly website!

*The Site & Our Requirements*
The site uses Ruby on Rails, against MySQL database and runs on a shared
Linux host. Bitbucket is used for source control.

*Expected work*

   - migration of hosting to new agreed hosting provider
   - 3-5 hours per month baseline maintenance and support contract to be
   agreed, remote, flexible work expected with occasional phone calls or
   meetings.
   - feature development, improvements (hours above baseline to be agreed
   in advance)

*Requirements*

   - Smart, friendly, gets stuff done.
   - Takes initiative to suggest improvements
   - Excellent written communication skills (communication will primarily
   be through Bitbucket.)
   - 2+ years of recent Ruby on Rails experience
   - Knowledge of WordPress
   - Interest in and commitment to the aims of Sutton Community Farm
   - We will consider individuals or agencies.
