[LRUG] [HELP NEEDED] LRUG Gazette - a physical newspaper!!?!

Hi all,

If you were at our May meeting last Monday (13th) you’ll have heard me talk
about wanting to put together a physical newspaper for the LRUG community.

I don’t really know what might be in there, but I came up with a masthead,
tweaked the LRUG logo, and put it on a webpage, so I guess that means it
has to exist!

I’m looking for ruby-themed classic newspaper content like:

* A crossword
* A 3-panel gag strip
* 100 word micro articles on favourite LRUG talks from the past
* Long form opinion pieces about the ruby ecosystem
* Reviews of new gem releases as if they were albums or movies
* Advice columns
* Competitions
* Travel advice for the summer conference season
* Sensational headlines
* ...
* <%= your_ideas %>

I think this would be fun and I’d love to see what kinds of things we can
fill it with.  Get in touch if you have ideas or would like to volunteer to
produce something.

I’m also keen to hear from anyone who has any print industry experience and
can help me with using the tools.  The service I’m looking at using (
https://www.newspaperclub.com/) to produce the newspaper has templates for
indesign, canva, and scribus.  I don’t have indesign money, so I’m
struggling through with scribus.
